GROUNDS MAINTENANCE IN CAROUSEL COVE
In the interest of creating and maintaining a consistent and attractive appearance throughout the Carousel Cove community, the CCHOA administers contracts for the maintenance of exterior grounds (including trees less than 12 feet in height), as well as yard lights and mailboxes. The costs associated with these contracts are funded through assessments received from each of the 109 properties within the Carousel Cove community.
The Administrator of the Routine Grounds Maintenance Contract (GMAC), as well as, the Overseer of the yard lights and mailbox maintenance are appointed by the CCHOA Board of Directors.
Routine Grounds Maintenance
The contract for routine grounds maintenance includes the following services:
- Lawn Mowing: Lawns will be mowed weekly during the active growing season and every other week during periods when the grass is not actively growing. Lawns will be maintained at a height appropriate for the season and prevailing weather conditions.
- Edging: Lawn borders adjacent to planting beds, driveways, sidewalks, and walkways will be edged at the time of each mowing.
- Planting Beds: Planting beds will be maintained in a weed-free condition. The Contractor is not responsible for the maintenance of planting pots, free-standing planters or yard art. Space adequate to allow the Contractor to perform his work must be maintained between planting pots and free-standing planters.
- Palm Maintenance: Palms up to 12 feet in height will be maintained by removing dead or broken fronds. Fronds will be cut as close to the main trunk as practical without damaging the palm. Fruit and seedpods will be removed as needed.
- Ornamental Trees: Ornamental trees up to 12 feet in height will be maintained as necessary, including the removal of dead, diseased, or broken branches.
- Debris Removal: Turf areas, driveways, roadways, sidewalks, street curbs, and planting beds will be cleaned of debris following each service. The Contractor is responsible for removing and properly disposing of all debris on the same day the work is performed.
- Blowing/Cleanup: The Contractor will blow off driveways, roadways, sidewalks, and parking areas following each service, taking care not to blow grass clippings or other debris into planting beds, neighboring properties, vehicles, or other inappropriate areas.
- Pest Control: Pest control treatments to provide for the control of insects, weeds, and turf fungus diseases are essential to maintaining a healthy landscape. The frequency of pest control treatments is dictated by the weather and the presence and size of the pest populations. The Contractor will apply appropriate control treatments to affected areas as required or as directed by the GMCA.
Turf and grass zones on the property surrounding a residence shall be kept free from any yard art or other obstruction which may present a hindrance to routine grounds maintenance operations. Yard art means all forms of statuary and decorative items. Certain signs may be permissible; please review the Rules and Regulations document for more clarification.

Yard Light and Mailbox Maintenance
Carousel Cove, will provide for the maintenance of the free-standing yard lights and mailbox structures (including light bulbs and light sensors).

Important Reminder to all Carrousel Cove Property Owners:
Please remember to NOT turn off the water to your outdoor irrigation (sprinklers) when you leave your home for any extended period of time! If you do, it is very likely that you will find a dead lawn when you return.
